Immortal classic

Keeping in mind the fact that animation in this part of the world is still in its nascent stage, the Animworld team hasn’t done too badly in making an animation film on Sukumar Ray’s immortal classic Haw-Jaw-Baw-Raw-Law.

Six children and three male adults have given voices to the characters in this 56-minute film. Though, in most cases, the voices aren’t that impressive, old man Udho’s voice suits him very well.

Aparna Mondal’s tunes do not match the quality of Ray’s nonsense lyrics with the result that the music isn’t very absorbing. Also, the characters seem to be floating in the air with their feet moving when they are supposed to walk.

Today’s Cartoon Network– watching kids will probably not be impressed by the quality of this animation. The ‘Animworld team’, which did the animation in this film, still have a long way to go to produce the special effects of the likes of Tom and Jerry.

Those who have read the Sukumar classic might feel disappointed by this production but the film can bring a smile on the faces of many tiny tots who are the real target viewers.
