Super Thief & Super Cop
Lots of amazing stunts, some super-cool mobikes and Hrithik, Hrithik, Hrithik… all the way! That’s Dhoom 2 for you.
Mr A (Hrithik) is ‘the perfect thief’, who steals invaluable objects from around the world. And each time, he’s stolen the prize, he leaves his trademark ‘A’. ACP Shonali Bose (Bips) makes Jai (Abhishek) aware of this super thief, and it doesn’t take long for our ‘supercop’ to predict that Mr. A’s next stop is Mumbai. And from then on starts the chase – from Mumbai to Junagarh to Brazil.
Sanjay Gadhvi sure deserves lots of applause for the fantastic beginning. But, the expectations raised by the opening aren’t quite fulfilled. You could blame the numerous loose end of the storyline for that, among other things. Ash as Sunehri looks great, but not quite as fabulous as Mr A. Bips is a waste. Junior B and Uday Chopra are, like ‘Dhoom’, good. But at times you feel like you need tougher guys to take on ‘the perfect thief’, Aryan. Another confusing part is, when Jai chases Aryan, you don’t know whom to support!
The ultra-modern touch of this film is a big plus point. The way Gadhvi portrays Aryan’s modus operandi is absolutely super. The Krrish-like stunts add to the glamour. Good locales, coupled with good camera work, produce really good results. Pritam’s music is just ‘ok’. Or, is it?
Dhoom 2 is definitely worth watching. If not for anything, go and see Hrithik. He is as good as it gets!
