Voices Coordinators share their experience of the recently concluded Nandikar’s 23rd National Theatre Festival
Furruth: Group-Blank Verse.
Though the target audience is basically children, the play is based on Upendrakishore Roychoudhury’s immortal ‘Tuntunir Golpo’ and has been entertaining people of all ages for quite some time now.
You fall in love with the lanky, big-nosed king Hobuchandra right from the first scene. Debshankar Haldar portrays this lovable character flawlessly. The cute minister Gobuchandra (Dipak Mitra), with an extra-long beard, is just as endearing. Anandi Basu as Tuntuni executes her role superbly too. Live music onstage lends a special rustic flavour.
