From the unusual story of his marriage to him landing up behind bars, the reticent Ajay Devgn has opened up on his life ahead of his Friday release Raid.
Talking about his long marriage to Kajol, Devgn said the two became friends after meeting on a set.
“There was no proposal! We became friends, and then realised we are seeing each other. One day, we decided to get married. I didn’t want to make a big issue out of my marriage. So I came out of my bedroom, got married on my terrace, went back to my bedroom,” the Golmaal Again actor told an online film portal.
In another interview with a newspaper, the actor revealed the story behind why he had changed his name to Ajay from Vishal. “In 1991, a couple of actors with the name Vishal were being launched. One of them was Manoj (Kumar) saab‘s son. There was major confusion. One of us had to change our name. So I did,” he said.
He also said he was a pretty rowdy guy at college and had even landed up in jail a couple of times. Devgn’s last two films – Golmaal Again and Baadshaho – were big hits. His next, Raid, also starring Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla, hits cinemas on Friday.
