Movie montage – Lucky

Cast: Salman Khan, Sneha Ullal, Mithun Chakraborty
Music: Adnan Sami
Direction: Radhika Rao and Vijay Sapru

Not too impressive

Sneha Ullal is sweet – you’re bound to feel this after watching Lucky. The film is truly lucky for her since it is her big break and she has utilised it very well.

The plot is quite simple. Adi Sekri (Salman Khan) is the son of India’s ambassador to Russia and Lucky Negi’s (Sneha Ullal) father works under Adi’s father. Adi comes to Russia and he and Lucky are caught together amidst civil war in the country. The Indian government instructs the Indian citizens to immediately evacuate the country since hundreds of people are being killed there.

The story revolves around how, while trying to save themselves and flee to the airport, Adi and Lucky fall in love with each other. An interesting character, Pindidas Kapur (Mithun Chakraborty) helps them to escape.

The locations in the film are great and after many years, Salman Khan has refrained from removing his shirt (Perhaps it was too cold!). Nothing else about him is remarkable in the film. But Sneha Ullal impresses with her performance.

She executes the role of an innocent schoolgirl excellently. She surely won’t take many films to shake off the tag of “Aishwariya-look-alike” and create her own identity. Her next film Aryan with Sohail Khan is on the cards.

Adnan Sami’s music is good. Some of the songs like “Lucky Lips” and “Sun Zara” are quite popular already. But the film doesn’t let you forget that you are watching a typical Bollywood film.

The way Salman and Mithun fight and escape from the enemy’s lair is outrageous. Mithun seems more of a magician, as you get no clue about how he does many things in the film.

Despite these, the two and a half hours won’t be boring, rest assured.
