The N factor

Nachiketa performing for school students is not a common sight but the audience at Vibes 2006 got the opportunity to witness this on the evening of 25th November.

When asked if he had any special plans for the Vibes’ kind of audience, the songster said, “I do things spontaneously, I don’t decide previously. Let’s see what happens on stage.”

And when the versatile singer began his performance, it was a different Nachiketa altogether. Not the usual performer who doesn’t pay heed to requests from the audience and sings what he’s in the mood to sing on that particular evening. This Nachiketa patiently heard requests and sang the numbers; but when a person went forward to request a song, the singer politely refused him saying. “This is their day. Let them request.” He was of course referring to the students.

With his popular numbers like “Ambition”, “Jokhon Somoy”, “Briddhashram” and “Tumi ashbe”, he had the audience clapping and singing along. Nachiketa signed off with his signature “Nilanjana”, thus ending Day One of Vibes 2006 on a loving note.
